Book chapter on performance

As suggested by @muellese, we should add a book chapter on performance considerations.

Should include:

• General performance info with links to benchmarks
• A list of functions and practices that can cause performance degradation
• A section on pint, with link to the pint performance page
• Tipps on how to measure performance
• Anything else?
