License and project structure (Gradle files)

@reichold Could you please check the CI file (maybe we should use image adoptopenjdk?), and test whether gradlew works for you locally? I think I managed to set Linux execution permissions via git update-index --chmod=+x gradle/gradlew. At least in the CI it works, but not 100% sure.

Also, should we cache gradle-6.7.1-bin.zip?

Fixes #1 (closed) and #2 (closed).
