Gitlab CI Windows

As a rather large part of our (future/potential) audience are likely Windows users, I was wondering, if there is a way to automatically test saqc against windows through the Gitlab-CI.

Dear @schaefed,

both UFZ GitLab and HIFIS Software Services do not provide shared windows runners at this time. But the topic is already on the agenda, unfortunately without an estimated time of arrival.

The only option I see at the moment is to register an own GitLab-Runner on a self-hosted Windows machine.

This implies getting and maintaing a windows box, as well as manually setting up the Gitlab integration, right?

Any ideas, how to solve this with the least anount of work possible? Going for UFZ ressources is usually not in line with a minimal work requirement... Do you know of any external, maybe commercial offerings @bestflei ?

Wouldn't it be possible to run a Windows-VM within in the docker, like VirtualBox, and run the test/deployment within it..
